       Redneck Riviera Wonderful Wacky Women Create a Tidal Wave

Together, the wonderful wacky women, the mighty men and our supporters of “2011 Making a Difference Walk/Run” were able to donate over $30,000 dollars for the cause and created a tidal wave while doing so.  Proceeds went to the American Cancer Society of Baldwin County, AL and Escambia County, FL, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida, Moffitt’s Cancer Foundation in Tampa, Fl. and several smaller charities.  Thank you very much for your generosity. Your donation and/or services are greatly appreciated.  Your help enabled us to make an even bigger impact in the fight against cancer.

 Our year was nothing short of remarkable and a lasting memory of success.  By volunteering, working hard and YOUR support we made the world a better place.  Blessings just came our way…  There were so many wonderful experiences both personally and professionally that we will hang on to forever.  Please know… WE appreciate it all.  Our hearts are still smiling.

 Not only are we raising awareness and research money for Ovarian Cancer we are developing friendships as we move forward.   Since there is no early diagnostic screening tool for OC, there is an urgent need for women to know the early warning signs.   Most individuals are diagnosed at Stage 3 and Stage 4.  Please help us spread the word about this Silent Killer.

History:

The Wonderful Wacky Women are all about Making a Difference and enhancing our sisterhood.  We are a newly formed 501 (c) (3) formed in June of 2009.

Our first year, 2009 we raised $17,000 in the fight against Cancer.  Last year, with the market down and a major oil spill in Our Beautiful Gulf of Mexico, charitable contributions should have been impacted.  However, our Vice-President and Sponsorship Chair, Lisa Moore, a Wacky Women full of positive energy and great spirit was confident we could still make our event a success. And, yes she proved to be right.  We again donated $21,500 in the fight against cancer.   Our total for two years a wacky wonderful $38,500.

Our race in 2010 was “In Memory of Candy Swanson”  Suzy Toronto’s best friend who passed from Ovarian Cancer, The Silent Killer in July, 2003.   As the news got out to our local communities we were raising money and awareness about Ovarian Cancer, we had the pleasure to meet  4 local Ovarian Cancer Survivors.  They joined in, help spread the word and blessed our lives by being involved.   In Honor of these 4 women, others going through this health challenge, and ones who fought the battle and lost our board voted unanimously to raise monies to benefit Ovarian Cancer research and awareness for 2011.   We want ALL women to understand the early warning signs of Ovarian Cancer.   Please mark your calendars and save the date – 10.29.2011.  We will have a Silent Auction for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. 

 The WWWs are so thankful, appreciative and grateful to the businesses and individuals who sponsored us, the Wonderful Wacky Women who participated, the Men Who Love Wonderful Wacky Women, our board, and our volunteers.  With your help, we were able to “Make a Difference” in the fight against cancer.  Many heartfelt thanks go out to each of you.
